Kidnapper of Mikel Obi’s father arrested
THE Anambra State Special anti Robbery Squad
(SARS) has nabbed the gang responsible for the
kidnap of the father of Nigerian Super Eagles’
footballer, Mikel Obi.
The suspect, Ndubuisi Friday, who was expelled
from the Nigerian Army for his involvement in
criminal activities, was caught with his gang in
another kidnap.
Members of his gang including Ifeanyi Chukwulube
(alias Mmili), Ibegbulam Morris Kingsley (alias Zili)
and Mohammed Sani were arrested alongside him
during the kidnap of one Anyika Clement.
The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) of
Anambra State Police Command, DSP Emeka
Chukwuemeka, who paraded the suspects, on
Thursday, said that it took special skills exhibited by
the police to be able to unravel the syndicate and
get them arrested.
He added that the Friday admitted that he kidnapped
Mikel Obi’s father and participated in the kidnap of
another victim, Anyika Clement, before they were
rounded up by the Anambra State Police Command.
Friday, while speaking with newsmen admitted
being dismissed from the army in 2011 after,
according to him, he was lured by a friend to join
kidnapping business, adding that he made much
more money than when he was a soldier...
